The latest in films and closure liners for pharmaceutical and medical device applications will be featured by Tekni-Plex business units at CPHI InnoPack, October 9-11, Madrid, stand 2C51.

The company’s Tekni-Films business unit will be highlighting its Flexapharm® ultra high-barrier PVDC SBC coating, which offers multiple barrier and economic attributes for pharmaceutical applications, as well as its Tekniflex® laminates using Aclar® films.

Tekni-Films will also be featuring TekniMD™ PX films, a series of proprietary high-performance, thermoformable copolyester films that provide an alternative to PETG for medical device packaging. Standard PX film is suitable for form, fill and seal applications, while PX MED has superior denesting characteristics and is used as a substitute for silicone-coated PETG.

Additionally, Tekniflex® cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) coextruded films will be on display. Their properties are ideal for packaging dental varnish and prophylaxis paste. COC films are also being used as an alternative to Barex® in a variety of animal health applications.

The Tri-Seal business unit, which manufactures a broad range of closure liners in a variety of materials ranging from a one-piece induction seal to nine-layer coextrusions and laminations, will be exhibiting its portfolio of foamed materials and induction heat seal structures. This includes the Tri-Seal F-217 product line which is European Pharmacopeia compliant and has a Drug Master File.

Also on display will be Luxe® seal closure liners. Innovative, foldable, easy peel Luxe® tabs offer a departure from traditional liners for a wide variety of healthcare products. Luxe® seal liners can be embossed with a logo or brand, or cold-foil stamped in a variety of colors.

Additionally, the company will be featuring low-density, monolayer expanded polyethylene materials, as well as ones laminated to a wide range of films for additional oxygen, water vapor and chemical barriers. Induction seals will also be on display, including two-piece structures with paperboard or foam backing, and with or without wax.
