Bag-on-valve (BOV) pouch material for aerosol can applications will be featured by Action Technology, a Tekni-Plex company, at the Aerosol & Dispensing Forum (ADF), New York City, September 5-6, in Booth B8. Action Technology will be able to support the industry’s BOV needs via Tekni-Plex’s recent acquisition of Oracle Packaging.

The company will also be showing the latest rubber cosmetic dropper bulbs and rubber mascara wipers, along with its line of aerosol and dispensing pump system components.

“We’ve seen a significant growth in companies interested in converting their aerosol applications to BOV pouch material. Instead of mixing the propellant in with the product, BOV technology enables the product to be contained in a multilayer, coextruded pouch which is heat sealed to the dispensing mechanism. The propellant is inserted into the can separately, and never comes in content with the actual product,” explains Steven Storter, senior technical sales manager, Action Technology. “The recent addition of Oracle to the Tekni-Plex family complements the line of products we now offer to the aerosol and dispensing industries.”

The BOV approach offers significant benefits such as the elimination of fluorinated propellants by substituting pressurized gases such as CO2, nitrogen or even ambient air, as well as more flexibility in product formulations.

With its global manufacturing footprint, Action Technology is also ideally suited to support cosmetic packaging manufacturers as a primary or secondary supply source. The company has five manufacturing facilities located in the United States, Belgium, Italy and China, as well as a contract manufacturing location in Argentina. It also compounds its own rubber so that it can meet formulation requirements specified by demanding cosmetic companies.

Action Technology also will be exhibiting gaskets, extension/dip tubing, molded components and plastic/rubber rolled goods for dispenser use.
