Just before the summer break from its agenda of trade fairs, the Marchesini Group will be taking part in two of the most important packaging venues in Brazil and Mexico. Starting with FCE Pharma, from May 22nd to 24th, at the São Paulo Expo Center and shortly after, from June 5th to 8th, the Group will be at Expopack, at the Expo Bancomer Santa Fe in Mexico City. On both occasions, Marchesini has decided to focus on pharmaceutical blister and cartridges packaging with its Integra 320, at FCE Pharma, and with the FB 220 automatic deep draw thermoformer at Expopack.
At the Brazilian venue, the Group will showcase Integra 320. This innovative and ergonomic integrated robotized blister packaging line is designed to be installed in different industrial environments and to save time and costs thanks to the advanced Italian technology it exploits. The machine pitch control system, the cartoning section and the innovative carton opening and product insertion system boost production performance to 320 blisters and over 260 cartons a minute. The blister thermoforming and carton packaging phases are integrated into one very compact line. A three-axes Robocombi with suction cup pick-up head patented by Marchesini connects the two stations and minimises size change-over operations.
In Mexico, the Group will be exhibiting FB 220 deep draw thermoformer,
designed to form trays using thermoformable materials such as PVC.
FB 220 is a rugged, reliable, flexible and user-friendly machine, thanks also to its quick and simple size change-over operations. It is an ideal solution for medium to high speed pharmaceutical production plants.
The cartridges are sent from the machine downstream hanging in single rows: they are timed by a synchroniser, which places them with continuous motion into the buckets of the plug-in conveyor. From here, they are picked up with positive-motion by the Robomaster, developed specifically to infeed and handle delicate and fragile products at high speeds.
Both lines have been assembled at the Blister & Farcon Division in Carpi and are a combination of Marchesini's traditional blister technologies for solid batching and Farcon's deep draw thermoforming technologies for medical devices. The plant, which is a smart industrial factory, even if it still caters for tailored products, was inaugurated in October 2016. It has become the biggest production hub of thermoforming machinery in Italy, with its 15,000 square meters and investment of 14 million Euro.
Carpi's Blister & Farcon Division has been built using exclusively "Made in Italy" products. It exploits renewable energy sources to minimise harmful emissions and covers 40% of its own energy needs. Photovoltaic panels provide electricity. The heat and energy of machinery is recycled and converted into heat and hot water, thus ensuring a completely emission-free heating system.
