Effective 1 January 2016, IPS International Packaging Systems in Crailsheim was renamed Schubert Packaging Systems. Schubert + Edelmann in Bartholomä was renamed Schubert Fertigungstechnik. "This rebranding initiative is a reflection of our ongoing corporate growth. It underlines the Schubert brand's position in the market and the international strength with which we pursue our business objectives - not only as a leading machine manufacturer, but as an entire group on the worldwide market," explains Gerald Schubert, Managing Director of the Gerhard Schubert GmbH. On 1 October 2015, the Schubert Packaging Automation and Schubert Packaging Systems subsidiaries in the US and Canada were brought together under the Schubert North America name.

Schubert Packaging systems, the engineering service provider

For over 40 years, IPS (International Packaging Systems GmbH) has stood for customised, supplier-independent machine solutions in the field of final packaging. For many customers, the 100% subsidiary of the Gerhard Schubert GmbH is a reliable partner that considers engineering processes from an integrated perspective, thereby providing significant added value to customers. "We are part of the Schubert Group of companies and we want to communicate this even more clearly in the future," comments Olaf Horrenberger, the company's CEO. As a clear reflection of this affiliation, IPS will operate under the Schubert Packaging Systems GmbH name as of now. The engineering service provider employs a staff of 55 at its Crailsheim location and generated sales of 54.2 million euros in 2014.

The CEO sees the new name as a promise to the company's customers: "Just as the entire Schubert Group stands for quality and pioneering spirit, we are also fully committed to our customers' success." Whether in the confectionery or food sectors, in beverages, pet food or technical goods - customers and business partners can continue to rely on the experience of Schubert Packaging Systems in project management and on expert consulting for complex packaging assignments in a wide variety of industries.

Schubert + Edelmann is now Schubert Fertigungstechnik

The renaming strategy also pertains to the Schubert + Edelmann GmbH which has been part of the Schubert Group since 1977. In 2014, Schubert + Edelmann contributed 7.7 million euros to the Group's sales with a staff of 78. The company plays a key role in the high level of vertical integration of the Gerhard Schubert GmbH. In order to communicate the company's vital position within the Group both externally and internally, Schubert + Edelmann has been operating under the Schubert Fertigungstechnik GmbH name since 1 January 2016.

At its plant in Bartholomä, the company manufactures individual parts and small-series products made of metal and plastics for a variety of industries such as fixtures, ophthalmics and aviation. Its main client is the Gerhard Schubert GmbH with about 1 million parts a year.

In recent years, Schubert has consistently invested in new buildings and high-performance machines to ensure its competitiveness. In 2013, a 1,000 square-metre production hall was put into operation.

"The Schubert brand stands for innovation and quality manufacturing. We are proud to be part of a forward-looking group that contributes to significant advances in a wide range of sectors. With our new name - Schubert Fertigungstechnik - we are underscoring this affiliation and our quality promise to our customers," says Manfred Grieser, CEO and shareholder of Schubert Fertigungstechnik.
