Extended portfolio unlocks new markets Kilian gets off to a successful start in the Romaco Group
In the first fiscal year since joining the Romaco Group, Kilian Tableting GmbH’s order volume has gone up fifteen percent. As a result of acquiring Kilian, Romaco is now optimally placed to offer tableting and packaging solutions from a single source.
The incorporation of Kilian Tableting GmbH, based in Cologne, Germany, into the Romaco Group has been an outstanding economic success – this is the excellent news at the end of the first joint fiscal year. Driven by a fifteen percent rise in the order volume, Romaco Kilian has easily exceeded the original targets.
The united expertise of the Kilian, Siebler and Promatic product lines has helped the Romaco Group create groundbreaking synergetic effects that enable a direct connection between tablet presses and primary, secondary and final packaging solutions. Last year several contracts for integrated strip packaging lines were signed with customers in the U.S. and China. Romaco has achieved its stated objective of breaking into new pharmaceutical and healthcare markets following the formal takeover of Kilian Tableting GmbH with all-in-one solutions for tableting and packing pharmaceutical solids.
Focus on pharmaceutical markets
Paulo Alexandre, CEO of the Romaco Group, gives an altogether positive assessment: “Thanks to Kilian’s successful integration in the Romaco Group and the reorganisation of our worldwide network of agents, we managed to strengthen our position enormously last year in the international pharmaceutical markets. We intend to maintain our commitment to all-in-one solutions for the pharmaceutical industry in the future and extend our global reach in specific segments.” Both multinational pharmaceutical corporations and contract manufacturers profit from the Romaco Group’s end-to-end solution strategy and associated services.
Strong start
Kilian Tableting GmbH made its début in the Romaco Group with the launch of its Kilian KTP X series of high tech tablet presses. Only a few months after joining Romaco, Kilian unveiled the KTP 420X model at Interpack 2014 in Dusseldorf, Germany. This was followed by the KTP 720X at P-MEC 2014 in Mumbai, India, in the autumn. Both these Romaco Kilian prototypes were sold directly at the respective exhibitions.
The new generation of high speed tablet presses, developed explicitly for pharmaceutical production, excites enthusiasm with its numerous patented features and extremely low total cost of ownership (TCO). Romaco Kilian is the first manufacturer worldwide to offer a solution for continuous weight control: the CWC in-line scale. The Kilian KTP 420X moreover provides further evidence of the Romaco Group’s acknowledged design expertise. This tablet press was named by an international jury of experts as winner of the “iF product design award 2014” for its combination of minimalism and high quality.
Development for the future
The Romaco Group is simultaneously stepping up its efforts to expand Kilian’s research and development activities. “The market launch of the Kilian KTP X series was a renewed demonstration of our innovative vitality which made a lasting impression on both our customers and our competitors”, emphasises Jörg Pieper, Spokesman of the Kilian Tableting GmbH Board of Management. “This positive business development is clearly reflected in our sales figures.”
