Pharmaceutical packaging: Strategies, solutions, implementation

At the interpack 2014 trade fair, Schubert-Pharma is introducing itself as a partner to the pharmaceutical industry.

This content was written and submitted by the supplier. It has only been modified to comply with this publication’s space and style.

The company’s experienced international team of experts includes engineering consultants, project managers, engineers in planning and sales, qualification specialists and service engineers. Their direct collaboration represents a vital asset, significantly enhancing safety and security – as their various points of view on the customer’s mandate open up additional perspectives. With its highly flexible TLM technology, Schubert-Pharma can achieve objectives in systems engineering which were previously regarded as huge challenges. This applies, for instance, to serialization. At the shared Gerhard Schubert GmbH stand in Hall 14 – Stand 14A06 – Schubert-Pharma’s partners are pleased to present references for engineering services and turnkey installations.

Schubert-Pharma has designed, implemented and qualified packaging lines for the most diverse products. This includes, for example, syringes, vials, ampoules, cartridges and hospital care products. The team has developed GMP/FDA-compliant installation concepts for all process steps, ranging from taking over primary packaging through to shipment-ready palettes.

At the beginning of the year, Schubert Parma received several orders for the secondary packing of “blow-fill-seal” packaging. One of Schubert’s TLM-technology system components has proven itself again and again for these dosage forms: the Transmodule. Products with unstable characteristics pass through all process steps securely fixed on the rail-based, autonomous transport robot. At the interpack 2014 fair, Schubert is demonstrating a picker line that groups infusion bags on the Transmodule .

For Track & Trace or serialization tasks, the Transmodule opens up new perspectives, due to the fact that is traceable at any point in time. Consequently, this also applies to the products being carried by the Transmodule. Together with Schubert’s line management system, this Transmodule feature has enabled a system for personalized packaging of dosage forms.

Schubert-Pharma stands out as a consulting partner with exceptionally sound knowledge of handling medicinal products in production, and especially of secondary packaging processes. This detailed knowledge and understanding ensures that strategic and planning tasks do not remain theoretical, but are put into practice.

As an engineering service provider, Schubert-Pharma develops and plans, for example, new production capacity, designs upgrades for existing lines based on future requirements, optimizes existing packaging systems, supports projects with certified project managers,  and develops packaging solutions.

Schubert accompanies pharmaceutical manufacturers, upon request, from strategy to the development of concrete solutions, all the way through to their implementation. Customers benefit from a single point of contact for all aspects and issues relating to pharmaceutical packaging.

Schubert-Pharma was formed in January 2014 as an expert team – with employees from Gerhard Schubert GmbH and IPS International Packaging Systems GmbH now available under the new banner to address  pharmaceutical industry customer requirements. On the one hand, Schubert brings its expertise with the highly flexible TLM packaging machines as well as longstanding business relationships with pharmaceutical companies. And on the other, IPS contributes its extensive experience in project management and consulting on complex packaging systems.

Schubert-Pharma enters the market as a new player – but the organization is backed by decades of experience in the pharmaceutical sector. For more information, visit: www.schubert-pharma.com
