va-Q-tec expands into Latin America

va-Q-tec AG, the global leader in the development and manufacturing of vacuum insulation panels and thermal packaging is pleased to announce its expansion into the Latin American market. Effective immediately, Edgardo Ipar will support va-Q-tec’s existing client base and service the regional demands of this market. Edgardo Ipar who is a resident of Montevideo, Uruguay will manage the regional growth strategy, business development activities, sales, and form va-Q-tec’s LATAM depot network offering the “Load & Go” rental service. Before joining va-Q-tec, Edgardo Ipar, held the position of Cargo Sales Manager in Uruguay for United Cargo, this experience prepared him for a role as Commercial Manager for DB Schenker, followed by the position of VP for Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC) Uruguay.

A LATAM presence will allow va-Q-tec to support the demand of its growing global healthcare and pharmaceutical customer base by providing temperature controlled packaging in the region. “We have experienced a significant increase in requests to use the va-Q-tainer product line for rental business into South America and parcel sized cold chain packaging for last mile distribution. Considering the regional complexities and extended customs clearance process, customers are positioning themselves to eliminate their dependency on active pallet shippers, reducing the rental fees associated with unexpected delays.” said Andrew Heholt, va-Q-tec’s VP of Sales and Business Development for North America.

va-Q-tec will offer a full range of products and services. To meet larger distribution requirements, the “Load & Go” preconditioned rental service will be available for large domestic distribution and international shipments. The va-Q-tainer product line of passive pallet shippers will be the core products of the rental service. Capable of 120 hours of autonomous performance this thermal packaging platform is available from frozen to refrigerated to CRT temperatures.
