The LINDAL Group, a worldwide leader in aerosol packaging technology, has opened its Itupeva facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which is more than twice the size of its Jundiai area plant and positions the company for accelerated regional growth, Moacir Camargo, LINDAL Brazil’s Managing Director, announced here today.
The LINDAL Group develops and manufactures valves, actuators and spray caps for aerosol products used in pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food applications.
According to Camargo, the custom-built, expandable new facility was planned to capitalize on rising local market consumer spending power, which boosts demand for personal care products and, by extension, innovative aerosol packaging solutions.
“Our new operation in Itupeva represents additional space in terms of total land, injection molding, assembly, warehousing, maintenance and general operations, offices, lab and service support,” Camargo said. “In addition to overall economic expansion throughout the region, the growth of the Brazilian beauty market alone – 7.3 percent in 2011 – will boost demand for our innovative aerosol solutions at a time of rising disposable income,” he said. “Importantly, our people are motivated and ready to take LINDAL Brazil’s market penetration to new heights.”
According to Robert F. Brands, President of LINDAL - Americas, the new facility will help shorten supply chains and increase return on investment for its multinational customers, as well as for contract fillers based in South America. “This expansion represents our latest initiative in The Americas,” Brands said. “In our quest for profitable, sustainable growth, we will continue to enhance efficiencies and provide optimal product quality, service and support, in order to help our customers meet their goals.”
Most recently, the LINDAL Group announced the expansion of its Columbus, Indiana facility, a direct result of the worldwide growth in demand for the company’s innovative aerosol dispensing solutions.
Opening ceremonies for the Brazil facility are being planned and will be held in the coming months.
