The company now has 11 locations certified to the G7 standard.
With this certification MPS now offers consistent color standards and brand identity for global, regional, and local customers in the U.S. and Europe. With G7 proofing standards across its manufacturing network, MPS plants can exchange files seamlessly among different imaging systems and printing equipment, regardless of paper type, ink quantity, screening type, or imaging technology. The certification also enables remote proofing, proof-less workflows, ink jet and half-tone proofs.
“Certifying our manufacturing network to G7 standards is part of our ongoing commitment to offering customers complete solutions from the digital front-end through fulfillment.” commented Dennis Kaltman, President of MPS. “With this certification we now offer a simplified workflow, manufacturing flexibility, and consistent quality on an international scale.”
Marc Schnizer, Director of Manufacturing and Finance for CD CARTONDRUCK GmbH, further commented “We are pleased to be the first European manufacturing company certified to the G7 standard. Files can now be created and shared among any European locations and made available in both European and American standards.”
GRACoL® is an IDEAlliance color reproduction specification for sheetfed offset lithography and ISO inks. Their G7 specification is a global industry standard for calibrating proofing and offset presses based on definition of neutral gray in the mid-tones. The goal of G7 is to simplify calibration and help printers reliably achieve a close "visual match" from proof to press and from press to press, not only with a common gray balance, but also common tonal contrast and image weight.
