This new facility was added to meet both the needs of existing customers that require a high level of compliance and cleanliness in the development, manufacturing, and assembly of medical products, as well as to accommodate several new customers that also require clean room manufacturing capabilities. MedPlast has also added new molding machines to increase capacity. The plant now has 42 conventional and 2-shot molding machines ranging in tonnage capacity from 200-400 tons. Last year the plant added a new tool room with CNC and robotic EDM equipment to increase its medical mold-making capacity as well.
The 60,000 square foot facility continues to enhance MedPlast's manufacturing capabilities for the healthcare, medical, and diagnostics industries. The West Berlin location also offers assembly, ultrasonic welding, pad printing, heat staking and electronic sub-assemblies as well as extensive expertise in multi-cavity, 2-shot, and co-injection capabilities.
"The expansion of our New Jersey facility will provide better service in a controlled environment for our customers that demand highly specialized products manufactured to exacting standards,² said Robert Piccoli, VP and General Manager of MedPlast West Berlin. As the medical manufacturing environment continues to evolve, MedPlast will continue to provide services in controlled environments that exceed regulatory standards.
