At its 33rd Annual Awards competition, the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI), a North American narrow web industry association, awarded first place for excellence in technical achievement in the Flat Screen Printing category to Schreiner MediPharm for its Pharma-Comb SL label.
The Pharma-Comb SL label is designed to provide convenience and ease-of-use for multidose medications. After opening the upper label, the detachable label parts underneath automatically “rise” for easy and efficient peel-off. Even when wearing gloves, healthcare personnel can detach the upright, self-lifting label parts and apply them to filled, disposable syringes.
Schreiner-MediPharm's Web site explains, “When administering drugs to patients, definitive labeling of the product and comprehensive documentation are essential. Hand-written entries in patients' medical records often make it difficult to read critical information such as drug names, batch numbers, and expiration dates. In addition, essential information may be lost when refilling the product from its original into another container.” Pharma-Comb specialty labels contain “one or several documentation segments printed with essential data.”
