Medicine drops from the sky in Virginia

The FAA's first approved drone flight was to deliver medicine to a remote Virginia town.

The future of delivering medicine to remote places may have just gotten a little easier.

Last week, the first FAA-approved drone delivery brought medicines from a Virginia airport to a remote pop-up clinic that only treats patients one weekend per year at the local fairgrounds.

Usually, the last mile is a 90-minute bumpy journey, but instead the 24 packages were delivered by a drone from the start-up Flirtey, according to NBC News.
