PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) have announced the full conference program for Pharma Expo, co-located with Pack Expo Intl. The Nov. 2-5, 2014 event will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago and is a joint venture of the two associations.

Pharma EXPO will provide the pharmaceutical industry with access to world-class education in addition to innovations for the entire pharmaceutical lifecycle.

Curated by ISPE, the presentations are divided into three tracks: Manufacturing Operations on Monday, Nov. 3, Compliance Trends on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and Pharmaceutical Packaging on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

“These three tracks cover essential areas for industry professionals to consider when looking to expand their operations,” says Nancy Berg, President and CEO, ISPE. “Each educational track represents a critical path for evolution in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, medical device, and biotechnology sectors.”

Sessions on Monday will include topics such as the Internet of Things, single-use systems, and automation. On the second day, attendees can learn about serialization, quality assurance, and nutraceuticals, while the third day of the conference will focus on subjects such as 3D printing, inspection methods, single-use facility design, and 2D barcode technology. Keynote sessions, one each day of the conference, are free and open to all registered attendees. Click here for a full, searchable schedule of Pharma EXPO conference sessions.

“Topics such as product integrity, serialization requirements, and security within the pharmaceutical supply chain are some of the challenges the pharmaceutical industry is facing,” says Julianne Rill, Director of Education, ISPE. “As an industry we are committed to providing safe and reliable medicines to all patients.ISPE is pleased to provide a program that will serve as a catalyst for overcomingthese hurdles and moving the industry forward. The 33 conference sessions at Pharma EXPO will be excellent learning opportunities, and they are all conveniently located and scheduled with the busy show attendee in mind.”

There are several conference registration options available that provide Pharma EXPO attendees the flexibility to choose the amount of time they spend in conference sessions versus on the show floor. A full pass ($350, increasing to $500 after Oct. 3) provides access to all conference sessions and costs $350 before October 3. Attendees preferring to focus on one particular track can choose the day pass for access to all of the sessions offered on one particular day ($125, increasing to $200 after Oct. 3). Attendees who want to choose a few select sessions can purchase single classes ($75/session; $125/session after Oct. 3). Only registered Pharma EXPO and PACK EXPO International attendees may register for the conference.
