UDG Healthcare invests in U.S. packaging plants

The investment will help the Ireland-based company to meet increased demand.

UDG Healthcare, a drug distributor based in Ireland, is investing $30 million into their U.S. packaging plants in order to meet growing demand, according to The Irish Times.

Citing Liam Fitzgerald, Chief Executive, the company will invest the money into their subsidiary Sharp Packaging Services' facility in Allentown, PA, the news organization reported on its website.

While the first part of the expansion plan was completed earlier this year, the plan is set to begin production in mid-2016, and would add 40% to the existing plant's capacity, according to the report.

UDG Healthcare specializes in supply chain, packaging, medical, regulatory, as well as sales and marketing services.
