Truvant Acquires Multi-Pak Packaging, Expanding VMS Portfolio

Deal also adds OTC, beauty packaging for N.J.-based co-packer.

The acquisition broadens Truvant's existing packaging portfolio of minerals and supplements, OTC solid dose, and consumer health manufacturing, along with beauty, personal care, and medical device packaging.

Truvant, the pure-play contract packaging and co-manufacturing partner for many leading consumer brands, has acquired Multi-Pak Packaging, a contract packager based in West Caldwell, N.J.

The deal adds specialized capabilities in vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS), over-the-counter (OTC) solid dose, and consumer health packaging, along with additional strengths in beauty, personal care and medical device packaging.

The move plugs Truvant into a category benefiting from rising consumer demand for vitamins and health products. With six campuses already spanning North America and Europe, Truvant plans to fold Multi-Pak's New Jersey site into its existing network, broadening its footprint for health and wellness brand customers.

Multi-Pak brings substantial primary and secondary packaging capacity: more than 250 million bottles annually, over 500 million blister packs a year for tablets, caplets and softgels, plus pouching, sachets and a cold-chain-equipped probiotics center.

The company also handles Class 1 medical devices and beauty/personal care items, and offers cartoning, kitting, display assembly, sourcing, procurement and warehousing. Paired with Truvant's regulatory, sustainability and procurement expertise, the acquisition rounds out a more comprehensive offering for brands seeking a single packaging and co-manufacturing partner.

Founded in 2005 by John and Debbie Culligan, Multi-Pak operates more than 180,000 square feet in West Caldwell and is FDA registered and inspected, cGMP compliant to 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211, and holds NSF, Organic, Gluten Free and Kosher certifications.

"Multi-Pak strengthens our capabilities in attractive, high-growth end markets while expanding the value we deliver to customers," said Stew Atkinson, Truvant CEO, adding that the company's culture and operational expertise make it a strong fit.

John Culligan, Multi-Pak's founder, called joining Truvant "an exciting step" that gives his team the scale to serve customers better while opening new opportunities for employees.

Multi-Pak will continue operating from its West Caldwell facility under the Truvant banner, ensuring continuity for existing customers.
