As the elderly population grows in America, the number of people affected by Alzheimer’s also increases, creating a high demand for treatments. While serious research and development is taking place to find a cure, there’s no shortage of companies looking to cash with products that make false claims. Most often these products are sold online and falsely labeled as dietary supplements.
The FDA wants consumers to remember the saying, “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.” They also warn against any product that claims to be a “scientific breakthrough” and suggest consulting a doctor before buying any OTC products.
