Ink-jet Printer has UV Inks

Co-Pilot Gemini UV System prints up to 5.6 in. high at 360 dpi and features new water-cooled UV system so ink can be printed on nonporous substrates.

Squid Ink Manufacturing has introduced its latest product, the CoPilot Gemini UV system, at the 2023 PACK EXPO in Las Vegas. John Milram, representing Squid Ink Manufacturing, highlighted the system's capabilities and features during the event.

The CoPilot Gemini UV system is designed to print up to 5.6 inches in print height with a resolution of up to 360 DPI vertically and 300 DPI horizontally. Milram explained, "This pin is blue now operated with our new water-cooled UV system, which requires up to six liters of water to keep the system cold." The water-cooled mechanism is essential for maintaining the system's temperature, ensuring optimal performance.

One of the standout features of the CoPilot Gemini UV system is its ability to print on non-porous substrates, which are typically challenging for solvent inks due to longer drying times. Milram demonstrated the system's efficiency, noting, "The purpose behind the UV system is to print ink on non-porous substrates that are generally difficult to print with for dry time for solvent inks."

During the demonstration, Milram showcased the system's printing process, emphasizing the quality and durability of the output. "The printer will print once it's triggered. Now that is completely cured, if I wipe on it, it is completely smudge-free," he stated, underscoring the system's ability to produce smudge-free prints immediately after printing.

The introduction of the CoPilot Gemini UV system marks a significant development for Squid Ink Manufacturing, offering enhanced printing solutions for various industrial applications. The system's advanced features and reliable performance are expected to meet the needs of professionals seeking efficient and high-quality printing capabilities.
