Kendall Packaging, a provider of high-quality flexible packaging solutions, has installed a new laminator with cold seal technology. The combination coater/laminator is the latest in a series of technology investments that will expand the company’s product offering to meet unique packaging requirements.
The Nordmeccanica Super Combi 4000 laminator was installed at Kendall Packaging’s Jefferson, Wisconsin location, and is the first of its kind at the facility and the company’s third overall Nordmeccanica laminator. Cold seal or self-seal adhesives are used for a wide range of applications including granola and protein bars, confectionery products, and medical product packaging.
The compact machine is capable of solventless laminating, single station flexo printing/coating, rotogravure coating, and cold seal coating. Cold seal application comes with advantages for customer demands including high production speeds, sealing with no heat, and unsurpassed web handling technology.
Kendall has recently established identical facilities, allowing the unique benefit of serving as their own backup; the company updated the look of the logo and developed a mobile responsive website; and continues to invest in state-of-the-art packaging technology with the additional laminating equipment.
