The Product Inspection Group of METTLER TOLEDO, the largest manufacturer of product inspection systems for the food and pharmaceutical industries, hosted a Grand Opening event for their customers and trade media on July 12 – 13th, 2018. The 265,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space is the new Product Inspection Headquarters of the Americas and houses all of the Product Inspection business units – Safeline metal detection and x-ray inspection, Hi-Speed checkweighing, CI-Vision machine vision and PCE Track&Trace/Serialization.
Attended by over 75 guests, the two day event was packed full of activities and sessions which utilized many of the amenities the new facility has to offer. The first day opened with scheduled meetings and a comprehensive tour of the facility followed by an afternoon of networking and outings. The day concluded with a courtyard reception, which included a product fair with displays from the other METTLER TOLEDO divisions, and a formal dinner at the on-site restaurant.
The Keynote speaker, Group VP from HEB, opened the second day with an enlightening presentation entitled, The Fourth Industrial Revolution, discussing all factors which are "industry disruptors" today. This segued into presentations from METTLER TOLEDO about the latest innovations in product inspection technologies. Sessions wrapped up with a lively panel discussion, consisting of Bryce Burnett, Corporate Senior Program Leader, Chick-Fil-A, Inc., Tom Kittle, President Handtmann Inc. & Handtmann Canada Limited, and Robert Rogers, Senior Advisor Food Safety and Regulation, METTLER-TOLEDO. Moderated by packaging industry expert and publisher Joe Angel, topics included the Industrial Internet of Things: how to prepare and its impact on business, food safety and how to turn the risk into a competitive benefit, and best practices for OEM relationships. The event closed with live hands-on product demonstrations.
This new state-of-the-art facility elevates METTLER TOLEDO's capabilities, with a large production area, first-class training and test labs, and multiple FAT rooms. With collaborating R&D resources and extensive combined industry application expertise, METTLER TOLEDO is positioned to deliver even more innovative solutions.
