OPTEL GROUP, a leading global provider of traceability systems for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, announced today that it will be exhibiting an entire serialized line at this year’s PACK EXPO Las Vegas, from September 25 to 27, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall – Booth N-309.

During the event, OPTEL, in collaboration with NJM Packaging, an automated packaging system manufacturer, integrator and support resource, will showcase its BottleTracker™ integrated with NJM’s TROTTER W pressure sensitive labeler. Combined, this solution ensures the safety and integrity of medicine bottles, their content and packaging, thus reducing the risk of product recalls, counterfeiting and fraud.

The in-depth demonstration will mark another first for OPTEL, as it will be the first time that an entire serialized line, from a virgin bottle to the pallet in the warehouse, is exhibited live at a tradeshow.

OPTEL’s proven BottleTracker™ solution facilitates the tracking of bottles going into secondary packaging, such as bundles or cases. With unique barcode-reading technology, it is built to print and inspect a temporary unique identifier on the bottom of the bottle using black or UV ink. The BottleTracker™ also includes an adjustable railing to support various sizes and product shapes.

NJM’s TROTTER W labeler is dedicated to the wrap-around labeling of round containers at speeds of up to 150 bpm. It can be equipped with a thermal transfer and/or laser printer to print serialized 2D barcodes and alphanumeric codes, lot numbers, expiration dates and more onto preprinted pressure sensitive labels during the labeling operation.

Once these products are combined, the system can achieve complete in-line serialization as well as accurate aggregation on secondary packaging, directly on automated lines. Also, this solution allows for the verification, reporting and management of serial numbers, including those associated with bottles that are rejected, reworked and reintroduced.

The real-time demonstration will show attendees how to handle various inspections, including the presence and placement of labels, topserts and sideserts. “PACK EXPO Las Vegas will be the perfect opportunity to see how well OPTEL solutions integrate with any preferred equipment ─ regardless of vendors,” says Mario Simard, Director of Product Line Management at OPTEL.

For the duration of the show, OPTEL experts will be at Booth N-309 to answer questions and provide insight into any number of serialization issues, including the FDA’s enforcement delay and what it can mean for different organizations.

A Can’t-Miss Event – OPTEL will also be launching its new cutting-edge assistance solution during the event. Come try our exclusive Virtual Tech Support and see how this innovative technology can reduce downtime and create significant operational savings!
