Duravant, a global engineered equipment manufacturer serving the food processing, packaging and material handling sectors, announced today it has acquired Arpac, a prominent designer, manufacturer and integrator of complete end-of-line packaging solutions. The purchase expands Duravant’s packaging platform and strengthens the company’s systems integration and direct service capabilities.

Arpac has been a leader in secondary packaging machinery for over 45 years with proven experience in designing and building complex integrated production lines. Renowned for providing high quality shrink bundling machinery to consumer goods and industrial products producers, Arpac has most recently experienced expansive growth as an OEM integrator with in-house capabilities to configure, manufacture and service complete end-of-line packaging solutions.

Arpac’s customers include producers of foods, beverages, building supplies, automotive products, printed publications, health & beauty, and a wide variety of packaged goods. Arpac’s broad product portfolio includes shrink wrappers, shrink bundlers, case/tray formers and packers, shrink tunnels, palletizers, and pallet stretch wrappers.

“We are delighted to welcome Arpac to the Duravant Family of Operating Companies,” said Mike Kachmer, CEO of Duravant. “Arpac is a strategic acquisition for our packaging machinery segment and reflects the high quality, high reliability and customer-centric standards that’s at the core of all our businesses. In addition to expanding our product offering for the growing multi-pack market, our acquisition of Arpac amplifies our ability to engineer end-to-end systems and complete line solutions.”

Additionally, Arpac is the engine behind SupportPro, a service and parts organization that provides on-site support for packaging machinery and wrapping equipment with a fleet of factory trained field technicians and service vans. Arpac’s certified SupportPro technicians provide nationwide equipment support, maintenance, machine audits and end-user training to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment for best total cost of ownership. “SupportPro is uniquely built and resourced to provide the type of direct service and support that manufacturers in high production environments demand. We’re looking forward to expanding our local end-user support and footprint through SupportPro,” said Mr. Kachmer.

Rick Allegretti, President of Arpac will continue to lead the Arpac organization. Mr. Allegretti joined Arpac in 2003 and has led Arpac’s transformation to an OEM integrator and OEM service provider. “Our new partnership with Duravant is truly exciting for the Arpac team and an excellent cultural fit with great alignment,” said Mr. Allegretti. “Arpac’s focus on innovation directly connects with Duravant’s commitment to building customer partnerships through operational excellence, new product development and lifetime comprehensive aftermarket support.”
