On October 1st, NVC Netherlands Packaging Centre launches a unique international project in Amsterdam to accelerate packaging innovations via alternative financing methods, like crowdfunding. The association thereby gives follow-up to the call by Amsterdam vice-mayor Kajsa Ollongren to further develop the Dutch capital into a global hotspot in fintech and high added-value business activity. Ollongren shared her vision at the kick-off of the Amsterdam Capital Week on September 23rd, 2015. The NVC Project Crowdfunding for Packaging Innovation (CFPIN) covers a two-year period and addresses the €200 billion per annum global packaging sector. Each second, the world packs – and unpacks – more than a hundred thousand products. The first step takes place Thursday afternoon October 1st in the Royal Industrieele Groote Club at the famous Dam Square in Amsterdam. The meeting will also host the kick-off of the world’s most competitive packaging innovation contest De Gouden Noot, which enters its 28th bi-annual edition.
