TricorBraun, a leading developer and supplier of glass and rigid plastic packaging, recognizes the value of the continuing professional education in packaging offered by the packaging industry’s professional association, the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP). Its employees have participated in IoPP’s educational programs and the company has supported the organization for many years.

“Packaging is a complex and continually-evolving industry,” says Fenton. “Materials and production capabilities change every day, and to be successful packaging companies and their employees must stay up with—and hopefully ahead of—that evolution. IoPP, with its Fundamentals course, thoroughly educates individuals in the basic knowledge that makes them effective packaging employees. Its many online courses and webinars enables to expand and update that knowledge.”

Many of TricorBraun’s packaging specialists are members of IoPP, and five have earned the Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) certification as a result of the training courses and examinations they have taken. Suzanne Fenton, TricorBraun’s Director of Marketing, is a lifetime CPP, as well as a member of the Board of Directors and former president of IoPP. In 2013, Fenton was inducted into the IoPP College of Fellows.

As a Benefactor of IoPP, TricorBraun contributes its financial support. It also participates in the online webcasts that the Institute periodically produces and distributes, sharing its extensive packaging knowledge and experience as well.

“We support IoPP because it has been a valued part of our success as a packaging design, development and supply partner to our customers,” points out Fenton. “IoPP delivers continuing educational support to the professionals in our entire industry, and we want to ensure that resource is always there.”
