PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, owner and producer of the PACK EXPO portfolio of trade shows, announces registration is open for the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Manufacturing Solutions Conference at PACK EXPO East (Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia; Feb. 16–18.
The program is structured around three tracks, each offered on a single day: Manufacturing Operations (Feb. 16), Pharmaceutical Packaging (Feb. 17) and Compliance Trends (Feb. 18).
Sessions will focus on best practices in manufacturing, new technologies, compliance, advances in pharmacentric packaging and packaging solutions to help prevent drug shortages.
Conference programming ends at noon each day, giving attendees plenty of time to see solutions in action on the show floor.
“ISPE is the leading knowledge provider in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical space, and the Philadelphia area is a hub for life science industries. The conference program at PACK EXPO East will deliver a huge value,” says Jim Pittas, senior vice president, PMMI.
ISPE’s Manufacturing Solutions Conference builds on the successful program ISPE hosted as a partner in Pharma EXPO, co-located with PACK EXPO International 2014 last November.
“Education and training is a centerpiece of ISPE’s structure. The launch of PACK EXPO East is an excellent opportunity to provide life sciences professionals ‘real world’ information to employ best practices and meet and exceed regulatory requirements,” says John Bournas, CEO, ISPE.
Pittas adds that PACK EXPO East will bring everything expected at a PACK EXPO show to this regional venue. Attendees will enjoy an exclusive focus on processing and packaging technologies, top-tier exhibitors and a customer-centric approach to operational needs in markets as varied as pharmaceutical and medical devices, confectionery, baking/snack, food, nutraceuticals, beverage and electronics.
“PACK EXPO East will foster an environment for ‘cross-pollinating’ ideas. Attendees will have plenty of opportunities to draw on innovations from industries outside of their own. In addition to the vibrant pharmaceutical community, the Philadelphia area is home to about a third of the consumer goods manufacturers in the United States,” Pittas notes.
Registration for the ISPE Conference requires separate fees, and is open online at packexpoeast.com. Attendees can pick day packages or register for individual courses. Session prices are $150/day or $100/session.
