Education and information at the heart of Pharmapack Europe 2015
Renowned since its origins for the quality of its conference, the fourteenth edition of Pharmapack Europe will again deliver an extensive programme including 40 semi-scientific presentations, demonstrating that education and information remain top priorities.
Pharmapack Europe is attracts those wanting to find out about the latest regulatory developments in the global pharmaceutical industry, major trends in packaging design to improve compliance and patient safety, and innovations in materials.
The event offers no fewer than seven conference sessions held over two days, presented by leading worldwide experts from academic, industry and institutions, and dedicated to major topics of current issues to all healthcare stakeholders including:
- How to position new healthcare products in the market, in terms of innovation and regulations
- FDA registration of combined products
- The use of new 3D modelling techniques to understand the role of desiccants in pharmaceutical packaging and their effects on the product life cycle
- The latest innovations in terms of auto-injector devices and pre-filled syringes
- The design and development of a new automatic intradermal delivery devices
- The latest innovations in terms of packaging and delivery systems for oncology and cytotoxicity products
- Case study on the Crossject system applied to the filling and finishing of a sterile oncology product
- The impact of new regulatory requirements on packaging and new marketing differentiation solutions for packaging and delivery systems in animal healthcare.
Technical symposium dedicated to serialisation
Serialisation and traceability are hot topics in the pharmaceutical industry in view of the implementation of European Directive 2011/62/EU. These issues will be the subject of a technical symposium held on Wednesday 11 February, in parallel with the conference programme. With the implementation of these regulations looming, many questions are yet to be answered. Several companies specialising in this area and sponsoring this event, namely Adents International, Axway, Domino and Optel Vision, will take the floor to offer solutions to the technological and regulatory challenges presented by this directive.
Two workshops will complete this array of informative events. Both workshops will be held on Thursday 12 February, on the topics of "Pharmaceutical Packaging Materials Registration in China" and "Innovative drug / delivery device combination products: CMC and human factors / user test requirements for regulatory compliance & market success".
The Learning Lab is an entirely new feature for the 2015 edition. Over the two days, it will offer exhibitors the opportunity to give a 30-minute presentation on their innovations in an area open to all. In the style of an ancient agora, Pharmapack Europe wants this space to offer complete freedom of interaction between speakers and the audience. The objective is for the Learning Lab to promote discussions in an informal setting and to create healthy knowledge sharing between exhibitors and visitors.
370 pharmaceutical packaging supply chain suppliers at Pharmapack Europe 2015
Pharmapack Europe is an international platform growing year on year. In 2015, it will welcome its greatest number of exhibitors yet, with 370 companies originating from all over the world. Over the two days and all under one roof, visitors will be able to meet specialists and industry leaders in primary, secondary and tertiary packaging, drug delivery systems, labelling, track and trace solutions, anti-counterfeiting and serialisation.
The event has recorded excellent growth, both in terms of participants (nearly 10% more than in 2014) and international representation, which has reached 65%. No fewer than 60new companies will be present at this latest edition, including SHL Group (a world leader in injectables), Axway, Lange and Baltimore Innovation.
New features of the event
Following its success in 2014, the Innovation Gallery will feature again at the 2015 edition. This area enables visitors to optimise their technologicalintelligence by providing them with a comprehensive and immediate overview of the latest innovations launched by exhibitors.
For the first time, Pharmapack Europe 2015 will hold not just one Pharmapack Awards ceremony, but two. Limited until now to innovative packaging and delivery systems already available on the market, taking into account patient needs and significantly improving correct use of medications and compliance with treatment, this renowned competition will take place as usual, with prizes awarded during Pharmapack Europe 2015.
Adding to this, Pharmapack Europe will recongise innovative products presented for the first time at the event. Its judging panel will be made up of pharmaceutical company professionals who will award prizes to winners in various categories. The visitors' prize will be awarded to the exhibiting company that receives the most votes from the show's visitors. Registered visitors can vote for their favourite innovation on the Pharmapack Europe website in the month leading up to the event, or throughout the duration of the event.
Pharmapack International Meeting Zone
As two days are, ultimately, fairly short when faced with the diversity and wealth of everything that Pharmapack Europe 2015 has to offer, the event organisers have created a new service to enable visitors to optimise their time during their visit. Using this new service, visitors can identify the topics and sectors that are of interest to them. Pharmapack Europe will then propose a programme prior to their visit, comprising of not-to-be-missed conferences and appointments with various exhibitors in relation to the visitors' key issues.
The Pharmapack International Meeting Zone will be reserved for these networking activities, in order to create an environment conducive to making business contacts and giving visitors every opportunity to achieve their objectives at Pharmapack Europe.
