EPCglobal, part of the not-for-profit supply chain standards organization GS1, is dedicated to driving the adoption of the Electronic Product Code™ (EPC) for supply chain excellence.

The certification mark ensures that software products have been tested and will work in predictable ways within the overall architecture of the EPC Network. The mark is awarded by the EPCglobal Software Certification Program, a standards-based compliance testing program that provides a neutral and authoritative source for testing EPC/RFID software and providing information regarding certified products and the vendors who manufacture them.

“EPCIS Certification is an extremely significant milestone for Covectra, particularly as we expand into international markets with companies who have tasked us to implement track & trace and ePedigree within their supply chains,” stated Steve Wood, President & CEO of Covectra.  “With optimized transfer and capture of data using EPCIS standards, brand owners will be able to realize more extensive and valuable benefits of serialization.”

“By choosing software with an EPCglobal Software Compliance Certification Mark, the end-user can be confident that the software will perform according to defined EPCglobal standards,” said Nicholas Fergusson, Director Certification of EPCglobal at GS1. “With this information readily available, they will have more time to focus their resources on completing pilots and capturing information.”

To receive the software certification mark, AuthentiTrack® had to pass rigorous testing conducted by MET Laboratories, a third-party, nationally-recognized testing facility located in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States. The EPC software certification mark includes an 18-digit Global Service Relation Number (GSRN) that is globally unique to that specific software product.
