Cats-Haensel expands in North America

Clondalkin Group company Cats-Haensel, the leading European manufacturer of laminated and coated products, has announced its expansion into North America and appoints the experienced Larry Jones, based in Baltimore, to lead the sales and marketing effort.

Cats-Haensel has been a leading specialist producer of twist and fold papers for over 100 years and operates production facilities in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and in Haensel, Germany.  Clondalkin Group already has a strong global market presence in the packaging industry with 35 manufacturing locations in eight countries, including 10 in North America. The Cats-Haensel expansion will build on the Group's extensive customer service capabilities in the American market to introduce its leading European expertise in the confectionery markets.

Mitch Mankosa, the Cats-Haensel General Manager welcoming the appointment of Larry Jones as the North American representative explained; “Our long experience in the application of waxes and other materials as a coating and / or lamination on paper, films and foils has promoted us to leading producer of wrappers in the European market segment. Coming from the United States as I do, it was obvious to me that we could take these well developed specialities and by leveraging the extensive Clondalkin network we can deliver an outstanding alternative packaging solutions set to the American market.

"I am really pleased to welcome Larry Jones as our North American representative to develop our offerings in the United States. Larry is a consummate professional with over 40 years experience and has represented companies such as Nicolet Instruments and Toshiba, as well as running his own business.”

Larry Jones anticipating the possibilities of the appointment added; “Cats-Haensel specialities include wax paper in twist and fold applications, twist films and aluminium foils and laminates and tissue papers.  These specialities are an attractive package of capabilities backed up by film and foil production and converting capabilities of  Clondalkin Group, so the competence range and innovative capabilities are exceptionally deep.

"The Clondalkin Group geographic network with 10 production plants in North America including Spiralkote in Florida which produces packaging wrap solutions gives us door step servicing capability throughout the United States.

"The leading brands are interested in our proprietary formulations, original lacquering and laminating technologies, gravure, flexographic and digital print alternatives as well as our water based materials. I am very excited to be bringing this expanded service capability to my home market.”
