The Vino Libero project, an association of 13 Italian wineries which includes the Fontanafredda brand, was born to meet the needs and expectations of increasingly educated customers.
Vino Libero literally translates as ‘free wine’, but in this case it means free from anything which negatively affects the quality of the wine. This project promotes wines that are free from herbicides and fertilizers, and is against pollutant and wasteful packaging.
Smurfit Kappa was a natural choice of partner for Vino Libero given the Company’s commitment to creating high quality yet sustainable packaging solutions. At the Vinitaly Exhibition, Smurfit Kappa will showcase its unique Bag-in-Box packaging solution.
The Bag-in-Box system is designed to extend the shelf-life of liquid products in the food and non-food market, maintaining their quality even after opening. This innovative packaging is ideal for on-the-go consumption, making it possible to withdraw small quantities at a time, and is particularly suitable for wine packaging. It is also a sustainable packaging solution, with a much lower carbon footprint than other forms of packaging.
Visitors to the event will find the joint stand for Smurfit Kappa and Vino Libero in Hall 7, Stand D6, where both organisations will be available to answer questions.
