Specialty Packaging Purchases MARK C Specialties

MARK C Specialties is well known in our industry, according to Managing Partner Keith Streib. The company has solid product lines and a good reputation. The purchase will enable us to build our customer base, add new product lines and continue growing. All current employees of MARK C will be retained, and operations will be moved from Rockville to Specialty Packaging's Distribution Center at Four Revay Road, East Windsor. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. One reason for making the acquisition is that there is almost no overlap in the accounts the two companies serve, according to Streib. Specialty Packaging hopes to not only continue serving MARK C's accounts, but to offer them additional products and services. MARK C has been a distributor for many of the top suppliers in the packaging industry, including Intertape, Loveshaw, Plas-Ties, Clamco, Fox Packaging Services, Lincoln Coders Corporation and Sharp Packaging Systems. Specialty Packaging will continue to represent these suppliers and we are committed to growing our business with each of them, through both equipment and consumable sales, according to Streib. MARK C also supplied its customers with a wide variety of tapes, stretch films and shrink films, as well as machine-grade strap The purchase of MARK C brings us new capabilities and additional resources, broadens our supplier base and strengthens our Service and Equipment Division, Streib said. It will make Specialty Packaging more competitive and help us continue to improve and expand our product offerings and service levels. The purchase of MARK C follows Specialty Packaging's merger last summer with D. McLeod Packaging, LLC of East Longmeadow, Mass. Specialty Packaging was formed earlier this year by four co-owners, including managing partners Streib, a resident of Ellington; Christopher L. Orsini of Middlebury, and Donald D. McLeod of Longmeadow, Mass. The fourth co-owner, William Bailey, is the President and CEO of Specialty Printing, LLC in East Windsor. The owners have more than 100 years of combined experience in the packaging industry. Specialty Packaging has extensive capabilities in package design, sourcing, distribution and logistics. It provides customers with packaging and shipping products. Primary markets served include food packaging, general manufacturing and distribution centers. Specialty Packaging also has an in-house packaging equipment department, and offers customers new and used equipment, along with parts and service.
