Doctoralia, winner of the online vote, allows users to quickly locate medical professionals and centers, check the opinions of other users, filter searches according to specialties or insurance companies and arrange appointments online.
PhysioForm, which was selected among all the entries by the jury, brings together some of the most recent innovations for tablets and smart phones for patients, physiotherapists and personal trainers. The app helps the physiotherapist or trainer to get a better understanding of their clients' needs with information in real time to help them to achieve their health and fitness goals.
VitaDock is a solution for tracking vital data for diabetes, hypertension/hypotension, fever and obesity, giving the patient the ability to manage and monitor them in one app.
Symptom Tracker is an application for people to monitor their health by keeping a record of any symptoms when they are feeling unwell. They can then share the symptoms with their health care provider which helps them give the patient fast, better, accurate and timely care.
The monthly online competition “AppCircus on Health with MEDICA” will continue until the end of October. Every month a jury of experts as well as a public vote on the website will choose the two apps that will participate in the upcoming AppCircus@MEDICA 2012 (November 16, 2012 in Düsseldorf) where they will all compete to be chosen as the best health app. The winner will receive a nomination to the MobilePremierAwards, the world's reference awards in apps, which will take place in February 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. MEDICA 2012, International Trade Fair with Congress - World Forum for Medicine, will be held from November 14 - 17, 2012 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Developers of health or wellness apps can enter the competition online at http://appcircus.com/competition/AppCircus-on-Health-with-MEDICA. Both standalone and apps requiring external devices are accepted. The deadline for September submissions is September 23, 2012 and end of October 2012 for the October registrations.
