Adept Technology to Demonstrate Robotic Packaging Solutions That Deliver Productivity and Food Safety at Major Chinese Trade Show

Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced it will be demonstrating to China's food industry professionals how the Adept Quattro(TM) s650H robot, when integrated within high-speed automated packaging applications, can help increase productivity and food safety.

This capability will be showcased in Booth #5C45 at the ProPak China 2012 event in Shanghai, China from July 18-20, 2012. Adept's exhibit stand will feature Quattro robots in two high-performance, flexible handling demonstration systems with integrated vision-guidance and conveyor-tracking technologies. Adept's stand is located in the PMMI area of ProPak 2012. PMMI is a North American trade association of 560-plus member companies that manufacture packaging, processing and related converting machinery, machinery components, and packaging containers and materials in the United States and Canada.

Adept's preferred packaging solutions provider in China, Austong Intelligent Robot Technology Co., Ltd., will be demonstrating their high-speed carton packing system utilizing the Adept Quattro robot. The Adept Quattro s650H is a parallel robot specifically designed for high-speed manufacturing, packaging, material handling, and assembly applications. It is the only robot in the world that features a four-arm rotational platform, which delivers maximum speed, maximum acceleration, and exceptional performance across the entire work envelope. The Adept Quattro enables companies to maximize the throughput of their production lines. Powerful compact controls and embedded amplifiers simplify installation and reduce the factory area required for the work cell. The speed and precision of the Quattro robot combined with its acceptance by the USDA for meat and poultry processing make it the perfect choice for raw food handling, flexible packaging, material handling, kitting, and assembly applications where performance is key to decision-making.

ProPak 2012 is China's premier processing and packaging technology trade show celebrating its 18th year. The show takes place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from July 18-20, 2012 and will be co-located with China BevTek 2012 and China DairyTek 2012. According to the show organizer, China International Exhibitions Ltd., a common theme for exhibitors at this year's show is for smaller and faster packaging technology that is greener and more environmentally friendly for manufacturers of all products in China. With the rising cost of labor and increasing concern from Chinese consumers for product safety and quality, demand has grown significantly for the latest packaging technology from Chinese producers of everything from food and beverages and pharmaceuticals, to consumer packaged goods and industrial products.
