Dutch Contract Packager Tjoapack has Taken Over Competitor Prolepha

As of 9 November 2011, independent Dutch pharmaceutical contract packaging company Tjoapack has acquired its competitor Prolepha Packaging of Etten-Leur, the Netherlands.

Tjoapack is a specialist of packaging medicines in a solid dosage form and is an expert in the field of mass serialisation. Tjoapack operates in the European market, providing packaging solutions for major producers both across Europe and worldwide. By acquiring Prolepha Packaging the company has made an important step in securing future growth and it also makes Tjoapack one of Europe's largest contract packagers. This increase of activities gives the company a strong competitive position in a market in which prices and margins are under pressure by government regulations and tendering by medical insurance companies. The acquisition underlines Tjoapack's ambition to become the leading pharmaceutical contract packager for medicines in Europe. By 2012, Tjoa Group expects to realize sales of 38 million euros.
