Pharmapack Europe 2012, building on success with its eleventh edition

On 15-16 February 2012, at the 11th edition of Pharmapack Europe, healthcare industry professionals will meet in Paris for the annual European event dedicated to innovation in healthcare products, packaging and drug delivery systems.

Over 2,800 visitors from 50 countries are expected to join the 250 exhibitors at the Grande Halle de la Villette.

Building on the success of the previous ten years, Pharmapack Europe 2012 remains hand in hand with progress in the healthcare industry. As the leading European conference and exhibition, devoted to packaging technologies and drug delivery systems, it attracts a select international audience, which includes key decision-makers from pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and veterinary laboratories as well as healthcare authorities and organisations.

A showcase for the latest primary, secondary and tertiary packaging products, as well as new administration systems, the exhibition hall of Pharmapack Europe 2012 will host over 250 leading companies specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of delivery systems, pharmaceutical and medical packaging.

The high-level conference programme will sum up current views of market trends and technological innovations. The conference sessions will be chaired by a table of international experts from healthcare authorities, laboratories, technology suppliers, universities, researchers and pharmacists. The presentations will focus in particular on the latest developments in packaging design for enhancing the protection of medicinal products, providing patient information and ensuring the correct use of medicinal products. These developments also improve compatibility, reduce environmental impact and costs, and help in the fight against counterfeiting. There will also be a review of emerging technologies and delivery systems for all forms of medicinal products.

New: Thematic symposium on challenges in the pharmaceutical supply chain

For the first time, Pharmapack Europe will include a thematic symposium on tertiary packaging and transportation of medicinal products under controlled temperatures. These expert meetings, held in parallel with the conference, mark a significant step for the exhibition. As well as topics relating to innovation in the primary and secondary packaging of medicinal products and healthcare products, Pharmapack Europe will also deal with the challenges and issues faced by the supply chain. The aim is to further meet the expectations of healthcare industries for optimised logistics in terms of flow management, protection of products and patient safety faced with the risks of counterfeit products.

An eagerly awaited highlight will be the Pharmapack Awards 2012 ceremony, which recognises medicinal products, medical devices, healthcare products and veterinary medicines marketed for the first time between November 2010 and December 2011. Applications should be sent to UBM Canon before 15 November 2011.
