New Pharmaceutical Pavilion Delivers Solutions to Pharmaceutical Attendees & ROI to Exhibitors

Among the innovations launched during PACK EXPO Las Vegas, held Sept.

26 - 28, was The Pharmaceutical Pavilion, containing the Rx Lounge. This focused area of the trade show was home to pharmaceutical and medical device packaging solutions, and brought together nearly 50 manufacturers, the Innovation Stage where six pharma-specific conference programs were held, and a networking lounge that served as a gathering place for the pharmaceutical community throughout the week.

"The new Pharmaceutical Pavilion at PACK EXPO Las Vegas was a great success! As an industry leader in pharmaceutical packaging, we appreciate the efforts and cooperation that PMMI provided to us and the other packaging machinery companies who participated in the Pavilion," says Roger Toll, executive vice president of Marchesini Packaging Machinery Inc. "The Las Vegas show is growing, and we were very pleased with attendee turnout. We look forward to an even better event at PACK EXPO International 2012 in Chicago."

In response to exhibitor and attendee requests, PACK EXPO this year embarked on a strategic initiative to better serve specific customer segments. This customer centric approach will continue.

"The success of The Pharmaceutical Pavilion validates our strategic plan to create customer-centric areas for key industries at PACK EXPO," comments Charles D. Yuska, president & CEO, PMMI. "While not all exhibitors that provide pharmaceutical and medical device packaging were located in the Pavilion, it served as a logical starting point for attendees to quickly locate solutions in one area of the floor. The feedback we've heard from attendees and exhibitors so far is that the Pavilion exceeded their expectations—it saved attendees time and provided exhibitors more contact with current and potential customers."

The Pharmaceutical Pavilion was one of several other industry-specific pavilions were created to address a growing interest from attendees to have a designated place to connect with peers and industry suppliers at PACK EXPO.

James Umbdenstock, Griffin-Rutgers Co., Inc, whose booth was located in the Pharmaceutical Pavilion, says, "I was surprised by the great turnout in Las Vegas, and most importantly, with the quality of attendees. The show definitely surpassed our expectations."

The ability for end-users and manufacturers to connect, however, extends well beyond the show and is now available year round with the introduction of dedicated websites to serve key audiences. Building upon that strategy is the launch of online forums, the "PACK EXPO Connected Communities," which provide news, trends, information and contacts for several industry segments, including: Pharmaceutical, Confectionery, Baking-Snack and general Packaging & Processing.

Expanding on the success of the debut of The Pharmaceutical Pavilion, PACK EXPO International (October 28 - 31, 2012) will feature a larger pavilion with more opportunities to network, more chances to see what's new, and more breakthrough ideas to bring back to your business.

"We continue to monitor key industries and listen closely to exhibitors and attendees to identify ways to bring MORE value to PACK EXPO. Our board and committees are reviewing this year's results and together we will continue to make PACK EXPO the premiere, world class event for packaging and processing industries," Yuska added.
