Liberty Carton Company Achieves ISO 14001 Environmental Standard

Liberty Carton Company, a nationwide designer and manufacturer of creative custom packaging and fulfillment solutions, has been certified under the ISO 14001 international environmental standard for its Minnesota-based manufacturing facilities.

“By successfully completing the rigorous certification process, we join an elite group of companies that are committed to embracing sound environmental practices,” explained Mike Snowball, Vice President of Paper and Packaging at Liberty Diversified International.

Liberty Carton's manufacturing facilities in the Minneapolis area produce more than a billion square feet of corrugated material per year. The primary source of paper for corrugating at Liberty Carton is 100 percent recycled content from sister company Liberty Paper.

“Simply put, we pledge to minimize our impact on the air, land and water in those communities in which we do business,” Snowball explained.

The company's Minnesota-based operations were certified after the company successfully introduced the strict environmental management system by the International Organization for Standardization that requires an organization to monitor and continually improve its performance. The standard encompasses all the environmental effects of a manufacturing site, including energy use, water treatment, recycling, waste disposal, and air and noise quality.
