The Financial Executive of the Year Award is presented annually to exceptional executives from Western New York, in several categories, ranging from Healthcare and Education, to Retail and Hospitality. A luncheon in their honor was held at Salvatore's Italian Gardens, and their biographies and pictures were published in the October 8, 2010 edition of Buffalo Business First.
Jim Renda, President, Multisorb Technologies expressed his excitement over Balon's award, saying, “Jim has been providing excellent financial services for Multisorb, especially during our rapid growth. He has linked the financial reporting Systems for all our affiliates thereby allowing for timely and accurate analysis to help us make sound business decisions.”
Balon has held the role of Corporate Finance Director at Multisorb Technologies since 2001, and is responsible for financial oversight of manufacturing operations for Multisorb's multi-national company and its subsidiaries, including overall cash management and banking relationships, monthly financial statement preparation, audit and tax coordination, and ensuring accurate financial records. Balon has over twenty-three years in financial management primarily in the manufacturing industry, and spent several years with an international public accounting firm. Balon graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BBA degree from St. Bonaventure University, St. Bonaventure, N.Y.
Inspired by his father, who worked two full-time jobs while successfully raising a family, Balon himself exhibits exceptional dedication at home and on the job. Active in the community, he is a Board of Trustees Member for Hilbert College, and business partner and consultant for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). “I was driven into the profession by a passion for cutting-edge financial management and its application to maximize corporate business operations and profit,” said Balon. It is that same drive that has fostered the growth of his career and the impact he's had at Multisorb.
As Multisorb expands in sales and technology, Balon will continue to play in integral role in creating and sustaining a financial environment that allows the company to thrive and reach its goals.
