Entropy Solutions, Inc., a Minneapolis-based thermal technology development company, today announced it has sold its GREENBOX line of sustainable temperature-controlled shipping materials to ThermoSafe Brands, a division of Tegrant Corporation. In addition, the two companies have initiated an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement to use Entropy Solutions' PureTemp renewable phase-change materials within the temperature sensitive life sciences marketplace.

"We are proud to have developed the industry's first reusable, eco-friendly thermal management system for the life science industry and believe that, under the guidance of ThermoSafe, this technology will have an even broader reach and appeal," said Eric Lindquist, chief executive officer for Entropy Solutions, Inc. "This new partnership better positions GREENBOX to capitalize on the temperature sensitive market and allows Entropy to focus resources and broaden the applications for PureTemp, the renewable phase-change material at the heart of GREENBOX."

The award-winning GREENBOX thermal management system is designed for safe transportation of temperature-sensitive products, including biologics and pharmaceuticals. GREENBOX is the first temperature- controlled shipper to incorporate PureTemp technology, which is specially engineered to control temperatures ranging from the extremes of dry ice (-65oC) to hot coffee (103oC). The most common uses for
PureTemp within temperature sensitive packaging applications include deep-frozen (-40oC) frozen (-20oC), refrigerated (2-8oC) and room- temperature applications (20-25oC).

"Both GREENBOX and ThermoSafe Brands share a culture of innovation, creativity and ingenuity," said Colleen Bohn, president of ThermoSafe Brands. ³The GREENBOX acquisition and PureTemp licensing agreement both complement our existing leadership in developing packaging solutions for the life science industry."

PureTemp is a specially engineered renewable based passive technology that controls temperatures to extremes as cold as dry ice, as hot as coffee for extended periods of time. PureTemp is the world¹s first and only 100 percent renewable, biodegradable and environmentally friendly material to answer age-old issues concerning temperature
control and maintenance. Available in liquid, micro-encapsulated and macro-encapsulated forms, PureTemp has myriad applications in the shipping, construction, textile, healthcare, HVAC and energy industries anywhere strict temperature control and energy storage is required.

"We are in development, or pilot stage, with some of the world's most innovative and forward thinking companies," Lindquist said. "Regardless of the application, these companies are impressed with PureTemp¹s ability to deliver significant temperature and energy savings."

GREENBOX will be manufactured by ThermoSafe Brands' facilities in the U.S., Europe and Asia using Entropy's PureTemp technology. Entropy Solutions will maintain its focus on developing new PureTemp formulations and applications beyond the shipping and logistics market.
