DDL's entire staff teamed up for a friendly food drive competition and donated 948 lbs of food, hygiene products and household items for families within the community. DDL donated the items to Eden Prairie's local food shelf, PROP (People Reaching Out to Other People.)
"DDL works hard to promote a strong sense of community involvement among our employees," Tracy Kerber, Human Resources Director at DDL, said. "We do a number of philanthropic events throughout the year and have been amazed with our employee's willingness to continually donate their time and money to help those in need."
According to Anne Harnack, Executive Director of PROP, PROP servers about 125 families per week, a 33 percent increase from last year, and 94 percent of what they give comes from donations.
"We will need all the help the community can provide to keep our neighbors warm, sheltered and fed this winter," said Harnack. "Since August, we've seen an increase of about 10 new families a week that have never used prop before."
