MediSeal expands production facility

In addition to an expanded assembly area, separate clean rooms were created for pharmaceutical product filling and packaging under climatically sterile conditions. MediSeal, which originated from Klöckner Medipak, develops, designs, and manufactures thermoforming and sachet machines, cartoners, and complete packaging lines for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.

• ESS Technologies expanded its agreement with Fanuc Robotics to operate as a strategic partner for assembly, packaging, and palletizing of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostics products.

• Pregis Corp. opened an Innovation Center in north suburban Chicago, positioning it as a “think tank” for the creation of next-generation protective packaging materials and systems.

• Service Industries, LLC announced it has extended its distribution agreement with Sepha Ltd. to include the BlisterScan noncontact, nondestructive leak-testing machine for pharmaceutical blister packs.

• Mocon, Inc. entered into an agreement with Plastics Technologies, Inc., for the manufacturing and global marketing of the OxyTraQ oxygen permeation system.

• TCP Reliable and EFP Corp. announced a mutual design and supply agreement to provide cold chain products and services in the midwest U.S.

• Hapa AG, producer of On Demand pack printing for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2008.

• Tegrant Corp. and FEC Corp. formed ThermoSafe Brands Asia, a joint venture to manufacture and distribute a line of products in the region, including ThermoSafe insulated shippers, Polar Pack gels, U-tek phase-change materials, and Nomadic prequalified shippers.
