Dole Packaged Foods has opened a new 60,000-sq-ft, fully automated frozen fruit facility in McDonough, Ga. With four manufacturing lines, the operations will package frozen fruit for Dole’s East Coast retail, foodservice, and private-label customers. Production has already begun in a phased approach, and the site should be fully operational by this September, with over 100 employees and the ability to produce 60 million lb of frozen fruit annually.
