Addressing the Medtronic Cardiovascular package, IoPP says the “innovative single pouch packaging offers significant cost savings in materials, labor, and storage, and 50 percent waste reduction with its competitive 46 percent smaller size, while providing outstanding product protection and improved accessibility.”

Meanwhile, the ConforMIS package earned an AmeriStar for Beacon Converters.

IoPP described the pack as a “customizable multi-tiered wallet [that] replaces a dual thermoformed tray. Wallet provides protection in the most rigorous distribution environment, uses recyclable HDPE [high-density polyethylene] with 93 percent reduction in space, less energy to produce and transport.” More than 100 entries were submitted for the annual AmeriStar competition, with 25 winners in multiple categories.
