A recent article from Imperial College London discussed early success for the first vaccine for genital chlamydia, the most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection that can cause infertility. The randomized controlled trial was conducted on 35 healthy women at Imperial College London and the Statens Serum Institut in Copenhagen.

The trials showed that the vaccine is safe and produces the type of immune response that could potentially protect against chlamydia. 100% of the participants in the study experienced an immune response, and none of the participants in the placebo experienced the same immune response.
