Confusing or difficult-to-read labels, hard-to-handle packages, and materials that tear or don't open properly are routine complaints from nurses heard by HealthPack attendees for the past four or five years. Those same pet peeves were expressed by three local nurses during HealthPack 2012. Show organizers also announced the conference was also moving to Dublin, Ireland Oct. 8-9, 2012.

The state of the pharmaceutical sector in Italy
|

Yes, there's a financial crisis in Italy, as there is generally in Western Europe today; but Italian firms in the pharmaceutical supply chain are not being affected as badly because "structural variables" are allowing the sector to perform well. That was the key message delivered at a Pharmintech press conference held at Ipack-Ima in Milan, Italy. Pharmintech is the highly focused pharmaceutical exhibition held in Bologna, Italy, every three years since 2004.

When considering innovation in drug packaging, Patrice Noailles, president of Seillans Investissement, France, said that you must first consider that drugs are the most efficient way of reducing healthcare costs. It is far less expensive to vaccinate against an illness than it is to treat the illness. So, it's important for drugs, drug delivery and drug packaging to continue to be innovative to drive costs down. |
