Catalent provides a simplified delivery solution to speed clinical proof of concept

To help drug development scientists reach their “first dose in man” faster, Catalent Pharma Solutions, LLC has added the Xcelodose® micro-dosing system to its Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina facility.

This system provides high-precision metering of powder active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) into capsules, which eliminates the need of upfront formulation activities and minimizes the amount of actives required to manufacture the clinical batch.

Precision powder micro-dosing provides compelling benefits:

• Accurate and reproducible dosing down to as little as 100 micrograms of powder
• Capability of producing small batches less than 100 capsules
• Simplified formulation efforts and reduced drug development timeline
• High quality clinical supplies
• Lower development costs
