PRATI to introduce the VEGAplus BOOKLET system for off-line finishing of booklet labels at Labelexpo Americas 2010

Prati_VegaPlus-Booklet.jpgPRATI introduces its VEGAplus BOOKLET finishing line on Stand 717, Hall A, at Labelexpo Americas 2010, which takes place in Chicago, September 14-16.

Since its launch last year, the VEGAplus BOOKLET finishing line has been gaining a lot of interest from the market, particularly from the pharmaceutical, agri-chemical and food industry. Specifically designed for booklet labels, the VEGAplus BOOKLET is a robust and versatile finishing line, which can run with web widths of up to 450 mm and enables operations such as the inspection of pre-printed labels, the application of the booklet label on the base label, variable data printing, lamination and die-cutting.

PRATI will showcase the VEGAplus BOOKLET during Labelexpo and demonstrate the benefits of the off-line production of booklet labels on the PRATI system, including higher speed and enhanced productivity if compared to in-line finishing systems. Visitors can witness how the pre-printed reel is being inserted in the VEGAplus which then applies the leaflet in register with the base label. The booklet labels are laminated using a Longford rotary lamination unit and then die-cut in register and rewound. The variable data printing obtained from an Atlantic Zeiser inkjet head, brings additional value to the labels.

The VEGAplus BOOKLET can produce five kinds of labels: standard, coupon, flat- curved- and thick booklet. With a simply change in the parameter set up, booklet labels can be applied to both flat and round surfaces, disregarding the diameter, and this without wrinkling.

The VEGAplus BOOKLET reaches a maximum speed of 48 m/min and secures a faster job change and considerable waste reduction. The applied servo-technology provides for the greatest accuracy in leaflet positioning and die-cutting, to comply with the strict regulations of the pharma industry. The VEGAplus operations are intuitive, thanks to a touch-screen panel program, offering ease of use and quick set ups. The self-diagnostic software indicates when interruptions or defects occur.

Versatile, complete and long-lasting solutions for finishing

“We are committed to offering label printers the opportunities to diversify, expand or improve their production range with PRATI quality products and services,” Chiara Prati concludes.
