OYSTAR Packaging Technologies is poised to become the world’s largest aerosol machinery manufacturer this April, when OYSTAR Aerofill Dawson is slated to complete its move into Packaging Technologies’ facility in Iowa.
In keeping with the streamlining focus of OYSTAR’s recent realignment strategy, Packaging Technologies and Aerofill Dawson will consolidate their operations into the Davenport, Iowa-based 200,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility, which boasts more than 60 years of experience building quality machinery. Aerofill Dawson-branded equipment will become part of the Packaging Technologies product line.
“This restructuring and alignment will enable us to focus our R&D efforts to support the global aerosol markets,” said Barry Shoulders, president and CEO of Packaging Technologies. As part of these efforts, Packaging Technologies will operate two locations in the UK, including a customer service center in Heckmondwike that will supply parts for all of the company’s product lines.
Later this year, Packaging Technologies plans to open a sales and engineering office near London to offer equipment and service support to existing Aerofill Dawson customers. OYSTAR acquired the Aerofill and Dawson brands in 1999 when it assumed ownership of BWI plc. Over the past decade, the company has solidified Aerofill Dawson’s position as a global leader in the packaging and containers industry.
