An expansion at Cook Pharmica’s Bloomington, IN, facility aims to expand the company’s contract manufacturing business to include aseptically filled parenteral vials and syringes.
Called Project Eos, the expansion will support a high-speed syringe filling line and one low- to medium-speed vial filling line with lyophilization capacity. The syringe filling line will incorporate electron-beam sterilization and both lines will utilize isolators. Targeted to be on-line early next year, the facility is expected to add 200 new jobs. Cook Pharmica is the contract biopharmaceutical manufacturing division of Cook Medical.
